[rant]Looks like this year will be a rollercoaster ride for me with many incidents and events that will lead to a dog eat dog situation. More cheers to my beloved country. o/

(geez can't the people in Malaysia help each other to strive for the benefit of the community? I'm referring to the art and comic industry in case some of you all start to imagine different things OTL)

(also some people doesn't know what is a paragraph and goes writing long rant that makes me want to rant more about proper paragraphing) [/rant]



On another note since my DA subs is going to end anytime soon I will be going to be less active in DA (as in updating journal and uploading new work (and of course focusing on studies which is my top priority).

So I just completed my first video workflow with my latest work.

The main purpose of the video is to expose my typical drawing and painting workflow and to study any bad habit of mine through the sped up video. D:

I also uploaded together a quite high res of the work for you all to study the overall work and believe me the whole project is a way for me to rebel the so called "lecturing/teaching/criticism) of a certain people who I can't take it anymore. (Gah some of my classmates and my dad know of these certain people due to my nonstop ranting of the certain people) xD;;

Other than completing the video workflow I'm really really lucky when I went to Kinokuniya last 2 days ago and they are having a 20% discount for Ballistic Publishing books. So I like goes crazy and to give up on such offer is really silly since the book is hard to comeby in Malaysia and the only way is to import it which is way costly with the added transportation cost.

Well I wanted to grab another copy that is the Exotique 3 but too bad they run out of stock for it... :<

So without hesitation I grab:



Expose is a collection of artwork submitted by various CG artists and seeing their glorious work on the net printed high quality on glossy paper makes me goes squealing like a rabid fanboy!!! (and some of the artist featured in the book have DA account)




Next is the d'artiste series Character Modeling 2. People will going to find me odd as they rarely or haven't see any 3D works from me but I in the process of learning it by myself. :[ Hey it features my favourite game as their cover artwork and has a few master class from Kevin Lanning who sculpted the characters in Gears of War. The book also feature outrageous and crazy artwork on usual pro artbook quality printout.


If you all have the moolah and live in Kuala Lumpur, go and grab all books by Ballistic Publishing if possible! It is worth every single sen you can ever imagine.

So I got the chance to try out Intuos2 at my college lab and to my dismay I see nothing radical different from my trusty and beloved Graphire4. D:

I know the pro use the Intuos series because it is designed for professional users LOL but I still can't see any of the features that will going to persuade me to leap to the Intuos series tablet anytime soon.

That's why I need some feedback from you tablet owners of various brand and configuration. I need more information about all the fancy features that Intuos3 have such as barrel rotation, tilting and yadayadayada.

Before you all suggest to me to visit to a nearest computer or Wacom authorized outlet, they only have the Bamboo Fun series and their cheap ass (woops I mean cheaper) siblings for people to try out.

That means no pro tablet for mass consumer to try out. Nice move Wacom Malaysia. Nice is nice. Or maybe the shop people are the real jerk...





Ok at last I manage to revert my nocturnal lifestlye for the past two weeks back to normal now. Sleep at 6pm and wake up at 330am feel so different for an art college student?!!

I don't believe in those crap stuff saying one tablet have a higher pressure sensitivity levels than a budget tablet. *starting at my budget Graphire4*



*wait it is not even a budget tablet by Malaysian standard, it is consider uber expensive*



Here is a tips for how I overcome the so called ' pressure sensitivity ' levels. It is located in the tablet driver settings. Please consult Wacom site for further information on how to run the driver menu.



Here I set the settings to the most softest and you can actually see the word that I write on the screenshot. Even with the lightest touch the tablet register my input as the strongest pressure. So the writing lack any form of thick and thin strokes.




Now this is my current settings that I used. Noticed how the word is form by thick and thin strokes. With a more firm settings, the tablet actually can register more accurately the different pressure that we apply.

So a light touch will result in thin line and vice versa. It also affects any settings that is pressure sensitive such as opacity and colour in Photoshop and friends.

Also remember kids and adults, always keep your tablet driver up to date. What's the point of having the most newest technology when paired it with old driver meant for yesterday technology. This message is brought to you by your friendly Netizen. Now go vote for cheaper tablet price!!!!111!!
